FM - Civil Auto CAD Draftsman I AFET I Dubai, UAE Overview of the role: The Civil Draftsman to work with FM Civil team for converting preliminary design drawings into technical shop drawings, liaise with architects and engineers to gather product and structural requirements, calculating dimensions and material specifications, and creating detailed designs / shop drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The Civil Draftsman should also work to produce 3D visuals perspective rendering, joinery details / drawings and layout plans with detailed specifications for fit out contracts. What you will do: Responsible for: Key Accountability 1: FM / Civil Maintenance Service Delivery. Responsible for: • Draft and prepare AutoCAD layout plans with detailed specifications based on design schematic • Develop 3D visuals perspective rendering and layout • Develop high-quality interior design concepts including mood boards and layout plans. • Collaborate with the client to understand project requirements, including space layouts, furniture designs, and interior elements. • Incorporate design changes and revisions into existing drawings as required. • Produce clear and concise documentation, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details. • Coordinate with other departments, such as sales and execution teams, to ensure smooth project implementation. • Conduct quality checks on drawings to identify errors or inconsistencies and make necessary corrections. • Prepare BOQ from drawings and assist estimation team for qty take offs • Stay updated on the latest AutoCAD techniques, tools, and software advancements to enhance productivity and efficiency. Skills Required skills to be successful: Job-Specific Skills: • Knowledge in 2D & 3D design – Proficient in AutoCAD, 3D software such as 3DS Max, Vray, SketchUp. • Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and other image editing / rendering software • Knowledge of the design process, including M&E and detail construction drawings, colour & materials, furniture and carpentry systems, specifications, and detailing will be a plus. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated, hardworking, willing to work independently and as a team. • Should have Knowledge in Interior Designing/Joinery/ Fit Out Industry • Knowledge in Space Planning & Commercial Interior Environment, Fit out detailing, Specifications. • Strong knowledge of MEP and Electrical works technicalities and drawings • Strong knowledge of UAE construction code and technical files. • Knowledge of Quantifying the Material What equips you for the role: Minimum Qualifications, Certification and Knowledge: • Diploma in Interior Design / Civil Engineering. • Understanding of local market and knowledge of Public Entities, contractors and vendors. • Good Understanding of Fitout / Civil contracts. Minimum Experience: • 10 years' experience in a related field of which 5 years are in a similar capacity in the Civil / Fit out Contracting companies.
