About the role
MASE, a leading integrated player in the regional solar photovoltaic market specializing in Operations & Maintenance and Asset Management, is seeking an Accounting & Finance Associate to join our award-winning Commercial Team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely on projects across MASE's asset portfolio in Jordan and the UAE, contributing to our mission of advancing sustainable energy solutions in the MENA region.
As an Accounting & Finance Associate, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling accounts payable and receivable, while producing error-free accounting reports and analyzing financial information to summarize the company's financial status. This position reports directly to the Commercial Lead and involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will extend to reviewing and recommending improvements to accounting systems and procedures, participating in financial standards setting and forecasting processes, and assisting with tax audits and returns. You will also support month-end and year-end close processes, develop business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls, and ensure compliance with relevant local and international accounting principles. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of short, medium, and long-term forecasts and commercial strategies, while supporting Asset Management in external finance and accounting-related reporting to stakeholders such as the Board, Shareholders, Lenders, regulators, and utilities.
What we're looking for
- Degree in Finance and/or Accounting
- Experience in verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling accounts payable and receivable
- Ability to produce error-free accounting reports and present results effectively
- Strong analytical skills to analyze financial information and summarize financial status
- Attention to detail to spot errors and suggest efficiency improvements
- Knowledge of accounting systems and procedures with ability to recommend modifications
- Experience participating in financial standards setting and forecast processes
- Ability to provide input into goal setting processes
- Experience preparing financial statements and budgets according to schedule
- Familiarity with tax audits and tax return processes
- Experience liaising with internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Understanding of month-end and year-end close processes
- Ability to develop and document business processes and accounting policies
- Knowledge of local and international accounting principles and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting commercial strategy development and forecasting
- Ability to assist with external finance and accounting-related reporting to stakeholders
