About the role
Delivery Hero, a global leader in online food ordering and delivery, is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager Accounting to join our team in Amman, Jordan. This role is pivotal in supporting our finance operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and contributing to the strategic financial management of our MENA operations.
As Assistant Manager Accounting, you will lead and supervise the accounting team, ensuring all financial activities are executed with precision and compliance. Your responsibilities will include overseeing daily accounting operations, managing cash flow, reviewing financial statements, and ensuring adherence to local tax regulations and international accounting standards. You will play a key role in monthly and annual closing processes, internal/external audits, and the implementation of robust financial controls.
You will collaborate closely with the Sr. Manager Finance and other business stakeholders to analyze financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide strategic recommendations. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles, particularly within the dynamic food delivery industry.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D-365) and other accounting software
- Strong knowledge of IFRS standards, particularly IFRS16 for lease accounting
- Experience with VAT, WHT, and Jordanian tax regulations
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret financial data and identify variances
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic proficiency is advantageous
