About the role

Amman Academy, a prestigious IB World School recognized since 2006, is seeking a dedicated Piazza & Social Studies Teacher to join our dynamic educational community. As one of Jordan's top international schools, we provide bilingual education in English and Arabic to students aged 3-19 in our West Amman campus located in the vibrant Khalda neighborhood. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative learning experiences that promote student voice, agency, and engagement. You will work with upper primary students to support conceptual understanding in Science units linked to Units of Inquiry and deliver Social Studies instruction in Arabic. Your expertise will be crucial in utilizing our flexible learning spaces, particularly the Piazza, to enhance inquiry-based learning and collaboration. You will collaborate effectively with homeroom and subject teachers to support planning, co-teaching, and targeted student interventions. This position requires a professional who can demonstrate effective translanguaging practices to support conceptual understanding across languages while implementing responsive teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Primary Education, or related field (background in Science, Social Studies, or Curriculum & Instruction preferred)
  • Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English with effective translanguaging practices
  • Experience working with Primary-aged students, preferably within PYP or inquiry-based learning environments
  • Strong understanding of concept-based, inquiry-driven teaching aligned with IB PYP framework
  • Ability to design and implement innovative learning experiences that promote student engagement
  • Skilled in differentiation, small-group instruction, and responsive teaching strategies
  • Experience collaborating with teachers for planning, co-teaching, and student interventions
  • Confidence in using flexible learning spaces (such as the Piazza) to enhance inquiry and collaboration
  • Ability to provide targeted differentiation for diverse student needs
  • Experience supporting students who benefit from additional guided instruction outside homeroom settings
