About the role
Amman Academy, a prestigious international school recognized as an IB World School since 2006, is seeking a dedicated Piazza Teacher to join our dynamic educational community. Located in the vibrant Khalda neighborhood of West Amman, our school provides bilingual education in English and Arabic to students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12, fostering academic excellence and global citizenship.
As a Piazza Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting upper primary students' conceptual understanding through innovative teaching practices. You will work closely with small groups to enhance learning in UOI-linked Science units and Social Studies delivered in Arabic, utilizing the Piazza as a flexible learning space to promote inquiry, collaboration, and meaningful engagement. This position requires a creative educator who can design and implement responsive teaching strategies that cater to diverse learner needs.
You will collaborate effectively with homeroom and subject teachers to support planning, co-teaching, and targeted student interventions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong translanguaging practices to bridge English and Arabic instruction, ensuring students develop deep conceptual understanding across languages. What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Primary Education, or related field (background in Science, Social Studies, or Curriculum & Instruction preferred)
- Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English with effective translanguaging practices
- Experience working with Primary-aged students, preferably in PYP or inquiry-based learning environments
- Strong understanding of concept-based, inquiry-driven teaching aligned with IB PYP framework
- Ability to design innovative learning experiences promoting student voice, agency, and engagement
- Skills in differentiation, small-group instruction, and responsive teaching strategies
- Experience collaborating with teachers on planning, co-teaching, and student interventions
- Confidence using flexible learning spaces (like the Piazza) to enhance inquiry and collaboration
