About the role
KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is seeking a Lead Construction Engineer - Mechanical for a 5-year PMC contract with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). This strategic role supports KOC's objectives to achieve optimum capacity in its oilfields and enhance facilities through efficient and economical means. The contract encompasses comprehensive project management services including planning, design, engineering, construction management, procurement, and project controls for new oil field facilities and upgrades to existing infrastructure.
As the Lead Construction Engineer - Mechanical, you will develop and manage construction and completions capabilities across PMC projects while ensuring design integrity remains uncompromised. You will drive construction involvement in technical design, scheduling, preliminary execution planning, and cost estimating phases. This leadership position requires maintaining functional responsibility for all construction and completions personnel while providing overall supervision to construction engineers.
Key responsibilities include technical supervision of project-designated construction engineers, forecasting resource requirements, preparing man-hour estimates for project tasks, and promoting cost reduction and productivity initiatives. You will develop familiarity with support providers' capabilities and workloads, prepare weekly progress and expenditure reports, and ensure adherence to Quality Assurance provisions and guidelines throughout project execution.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Extensive experience in construction engineering within oil and gas industry
- Proven leadership experience supervising construction engineering teams
- Strong technical competence in mechanical construction processes
- Experience in resource forecasting and man-hour estimation
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance guidelines and procedures
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with support providers/contractors
- Experience in cost reduction and productivity enhancement initiatives
- Proficiency in preparing progress and expenditure reports
