PROCUREMENT ENGINEER - BUILDING MATERIALS

Key Responsibilities Source and procure construction materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, finishing materials, and MEP-related items Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors Obtain quotations, perform price comparisons, and negotiate terms (price, delivery, payment terms) Prepare purchase orders (POs) in line with company policies and project requirements Ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites to avoid delays Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to understand material requirements Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimal stock levels Verify material specifications and ensure compliance with project and quality standards Track orders and resolve issues related to delays, shortages, or quality concerns Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant regulations Conduct market research to stay updated on material pricing trends and availability Support cost control and budgeting activities Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or related field Minimum 5- 7 years of procurement experience in construction or building materials Strong knowledge of construction materials and specifications Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is an advantage Good understanding of local supplier markets Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Work Location: In person
